It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to this academic year, 2016/2017.
It is a session full of rigorous academic activities and lots of excitement. We have worked tirelessly during the summer holidays to create a conducive learning environment and recruited some outstanding educators to deliver world class education to our students.
Our slogan for this academic year is “Academic Excellence and Character”, which is in line with our core values of Life-long Learning, Excellence, Accountability and Discipline.
LFG is not just a school, but a family and a community of people. We partner with our parents to provide an all-inclusive education for our students that develops skills, knowledge and attitude. We harness their potential and equip them to become confident leaders, role models and global citizens.
In a short space of time, our school has built a very strong reputation, evidenced by the 100% growth in our student population between the 2015/16 and 2016/17 academic sessions. This is because our new and returning parents are impressed by the massive strides we are taking to ensure an outstanding learning environment for our students.
We have a well packaged curriculum that stands us out among the rest. In our curriculum, we are committed to developing students’ leadership skills, through our Learning Leadership and Character Development Programme. We also have a well structured Reading Culture Programme and Intervention Plan to help support students requiring additional academic tuition. Furthermore, our Entrepreneurship Development and Public Speaking Programmes are well embraced by our ever ready students and educators.
In order for our students to achieve a challenging and rewarding educational experience this academic year, we have also made tremendous additions to our already competitive values. We are now a STEAM school (a learning approach that uses Science, Technology, Engineering Arts & Craft and Mathematics), and this will help develop our students’ skills in scientific enquiry, problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration.
In addition, we have an array of extra curricular activities, and wellness programmes, aimed at creating an enjoyable learning environment for our students. Your constant involvement and collaboration with the school will therefore help motivate these students and enable them achieve more successes in and outside of the school.
I look forward to collaborating with you to set a new record of excellence for this academic session.
The establishment of a well-structured and leadership oriented classrooms and school environment should include not only the teacher, but also parents’ participation and the community, all in partnership working towards a common denominator; a happy and successful Lead-Forte Gate College Family.
