Lead-Forte Gate College runs a blend of British-Nigerian curriculum with emphasis on REAL LIFE APPLICATION and reference to INDIGENOUS LEARNING EXPERIENCES. Our curriculum content of the Six-Year Programme is delivered in two phases of Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

At KS3, which is the first three-year programme of Years 7, 8 and 9; students are exposed to a wide range of fields of knowledge in the Arts, Humanities, Languages, Sciences and Vocational in preparation for their first external and international examinations; the Cambridge Checkpoint and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the end of Year 9.

At KS4, which is the second three-year programme of Years 10, 11 and 12; students are fully prepared and qualified to sit the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Examination, in Term 1 of their Year 12, and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at the end of Term 3, which concludes their secondary education journey.

  • The Checkpoint at KS3 and the IGCSE at KS4 are international Examinations conducted by the Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE) for about 150 countries of the world.
  • The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO) of Nigeria.
  • The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

LFG College also prepares students for Pre-Scholastic Aptitude Test (Pre-SAT), Pre-American College Test (Pre-ACT), Scholastic Aptitude Test(SAT), American College Test (ACT), Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL), International English Language Testing System(IELTS) all of which are scholarship-based university placement examinations to Canada and the USA higher institutions and universities

LFGC understands that the school library is a catalyst for literacy and reading and for teaching and scaffolding inquiry learning. We have broad collections of resources in many formats and enthusiastic, trained librarians to support students in using and applying information resources to build new knowledge.

Boosting participation in sport and games can generate a variety of socio-economic benefits. LFGC understands that Sport can, and does, make a profound and positive impact on individuals, communities and wider society.
